Anyako to get a New Sports Stadium

A new sports stadium is being constructed at Anyako-Kpota in the Keta Municipality of the Volta region. A native of Anyako and a statistician by profession, Mr. Eli Attipoe is the brain behind this prominent project. According to him, he wanted to give this project to society. He says the stadium would be constructed on a 98 acre plot of land belonging to his grandfather Attipoe of Anyako and an amount of GHC 500,000) Five hundred thousand Ghana cedis) would be spent on the project.

Mr. Attipoe pointed out that the sports stadium would be built in phases and assured journalists from Fafaa 100.3 FM radio that when the first phase is completed, the stadium will accommodate 5,000 spectators, but when fully completed it will be a 15,000 person capacity stadium.

Anyako is about seven kilometers from Abor situated along the Keta Lagoon, hence, the inhabitants are mostly fisher folks and petty traders. He assured journalists from Fafaa 100.3 FM radio that Anyako-Kpota Sports Stadium will be completed in June, 2020 before the Duamenefa Foundation Regional Tournament in 2020.

Reacting to this news, the Chief Executive Officer of Fafaa 100.3 FM and President of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament, Mr. Ketaman Evortepe, commended Mr. Eli Attipoe for dreaming of this very important infrastructure. He said it had been the wish of the Duamenefa Regional Tournament that such an infrastructure be built in the area. He prayed that the first phase of the Anyako-Kpota Sports Stadium scheduled to be completed in June, 2020 becomes a reality.

The Assemblyman for Anyako electoral area and Presiding Member of the Keta Municipal Assembly was delighted about the construction of the sports stadium and promised that he would communicate this noble idea to the Assembly for assistance, adding it would boost sports activities in the municipality in particular and the region as a whole.

In another development, Togbi Subo II, one of the key stakeholders of the family, reiterated the Attipoe family’s commitment to collectively partner with Mr. Eli Attipoe towards the achievement of this historic venture. According to Togbi Subo II, the stadium, when completed would compete with international standards and would propel the Volta Region to gain international recognition in the field of sports.
