The timely intervention of the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa 100.3 Fm Dzodze, compelled a fetish priest, Awuku Eklu, who allegedly engaged himself in acts of spiritual terrorism on people in Ehi – Ahufeto in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region is to refund the sum of Ghc 700 in addition to seven bottles of dry gin to a fetish priestess, Dzogbesoli Agbayiza, aka Aflashie.
According to the priestess in her petition to the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa Fm, she alleged that the fetish priest formed an association of fetish practitioners with the intention to support each member during the annual ritual celebration.
According to the objectives of the association, each member is expected to contribute the sum of Ghc 100.00 in addition to one bottle of dry gin to support any member who is bid to celebrate his or her annual ritual ceremony.
She claimed that when it was her turn to celebrate her ritual festivities eight months ago, she was told by Hunua Eklu that the association had collapsed, whereas she contributed Ghc 700.00 with seven bottles of dry gin to the Fetish priest in the past.
The fetish priestess Dzogbesoli summoned the fetish priest before Togbi Bedi Ahadzi IV, the traditional ruler of Bedikorpe, Ehi in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region, but the fetish priest used his terrorism approach to display arrogance and rudeness to the extent of pointing his fingers into the face of Togbi Bedi IV questioning his capacity to summon him over fetish and traditional matters.
All attempts by members of the traditional jurist to call the spiritual terrorist to order proved futile; hence, the priestess was directed by Togbi Bedi Ahadzi to petition the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa Fm for investigation and intervention.
Togbi Bedi Ahadzi in his own petition attached to that of the priestess described the fetish priest, Eklu Awuku as an occultist who was made to leave Anloga in the Anlo district of the Volta Region to Penyi, Ketu North. He was again driven out of Penyi due to spiritual terrorism, threats to lives and showing disrespect to authorities.
He relocated from Penyi to Ehi – Ahupeto near Bedikorpe, again his attitude and disposition towards the chiefs and people of his present abode is none the better. His spiritual egoism is always scary to the vulnerable who have no place of solace with the police or the law courts. Due to the spiritual dimensions of issues, they go to the traditional courts where he shows no regard for the chiefs; therefore, the best place to petition was the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa FM.
The Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa Fm is a social intervention NGO of over 16,000 certified volunteers who are scattered across every community within the Volta Region and beyond.
Their core mandate is to investigate and intervene to rescue the vulnerable whose human rights are being trampled upon by means of spiritual manipulations and demonic orchestrations of the powerful occultists against their innocent victims.
The two petitions from the palace of Togbi Bedi IV were directed to the Executive President of the Foundation, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe who doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Dzodze.
The team of the undercover investigating crew was dispatched to substantiate the veracity or otherwise of the allegations leveled against Hunor Eklu Awuku as enumerated above.
The preliminary findings indicated that the so-called fetish priest association was not registered with the Registrar General’s department Accra, or the District Assembly of the Ketu North, but the fetish priest used the counterfeit unregistered association to conduct his illegitimate business with other unsuspecting members of the fetish group.
The fetish priest, Eklu was interrogated on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 Fm to explain his position on the aforementioned allegations. He admitted that the association has no registration certification to conduct such activities of monetary business with its members.
The Duamenefa Foundation engaged the services of the National Commission for Civic Education, Ketu North Municipal Director, Mr. Prosper Apealetey who advised the fetish priest to refund the money to the fetish priestess or be reported to the police for “defrauding by false pretence”, a criminal offense in the annotated criminal code of Ghana.
The fetish priest apologized publicly during the on-air interrogations for his misconduct. He pleaded with the NCCE and the Duamenefa Foundation to be given the opportunity to revisit Togbi Bedi Ahadzi IV for appropriate resolution of the matter.
The following day after the on-air interrogations, he refunded the money and the drinks to the priestess through the palace of Togbi Bedi Ahadzi IV. He pleaded with the promise to be of good behavior and conduct himself peaceably in the community, an apology Togbi Bedi and his council of elders accepted in the interest of peace.
For the past nine months until today, the alleged spiritual terrorist of Ehi – Ahufeto near Bedikorpe in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region has allegedly turned a new leaf. He may be aware that the spotlight of the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa Fm is on him for possible broadcast of any unforeseen manipulations and orchestrations of his spiritual powers against the vulnerable of the society.
