The largest movement of volunteers worldwide is loading in the Volta Region of Ghana as over 43,554 registered and certified volunteers joined the Duamenefa Foundation within the space of 14 years and still counting. Several communities are still on the waiting list to join the movement.
The emergence of the world’s largest movement of volunteers, is an initiative of Fafaa 100.3 FM’s Duamenefa Foundation.
Rev. Diane Westcott – Mamaga Duamenefa I, the International Director of Operations and Secretary to the Executive Board of Governors of the Duamenefa Foundation based in Ghana and the USA, has announced the 43,554 breakthroughs of registered and certified volunteers on its database at the close of today.
This becomes possible in the space of 14 years of the operations of the Duamenefa Foundation (2010 – 2024). Over 233 communities joined the movement and more than
three-hundred communities are on the waiting list. It is expected that total of 60,000 may join the movement before the close of 2024. The primary objective is to collaborate with lawful agencies to promote peaceful coexistence of people in the various communities.
Registration exercises in various communities
The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and CEO of Fafaa 100.3 FM, Dzodze, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe was overwhelmed by this great and laudable achievement of the Foundation. According to him, the need to register volunteers was birthed through a radio social intervention program christened “DUAMENEFA”, to wit, let us Co-exist in Peace.
The program seeks to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to investigate and intervene to save the lives of the vulnerable group, on issues of allegations of spiritual attacks and infringement on their fundamental human rights.
The Foundation also partners with its associates within and outside Ghana to launch intervention projects such as, educational support fund, scholarship programs, development of youth and sports, skills empowerment programs, community fun games, hospital support etc.
The Executive President used the occasion to congratulate the hard-working Board of Governors, Management, and Staff of Fafaa 100.3 FM. Its associates such as, Tanko Foundation, led by Hon. Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple (Togbi Nyaxordeakorla I), the Costheta Educational Support Fund led by Dr. David Kotei Nutakor of California, USA, Mawuena Ministries, led by Rev. Diane Westcott (Mamaga Duamenefa I) USA, Treasures of His Eyes, UK, Led by the country director, Pastor Adefunke Adeoye, (Mamaga Nutefeworla I), Nyonyo Foundation, led by His Eminence Person Hon. Francis Albert Nyonyo, Rayliza Initiatives, led by Rev. Dr. Raymond Sogah, and Community Enhancement Foundation, led by Madam Kudah-Parker.
Mr. Ketaman Evortepe also commends the unflinching collaborations of Traditional Rulers of the various Communities, The Ghana Police Service, The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) The Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), The Community Leaders of the Duamenefa Foundation (CLDF) and the Community Reporters of the Duamenefa Foundation (CRDF).
He praised the efforts of the 43,554 volunteers of the various communities for their collaborative efforts in social intervention and peace building.
