Tadzewu Water Crisis: Exclusion and Secret Dealing Rocks the Management Board

A severe water crisis has resurfaced in Tadzewu, Ketu North Municipal, with reports indicating a three-month cessation of water supply. Despite previous interventions by the Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa 100.3 Fm, and stakeholders, the issue persists.

In a shocking revelation, Mr Raymond Dovi, the immediate past Municipal Engineer representing the Ketu North Assembly on the Tadzewu Water Board, disclosed his exclusion from crucial decisions regarding the water management issues. According to him, he attended a scheduled meeting, only to find no other board members present. Further inquiries led him to the Board Chairman’s Residence, where he waited for more than two hours without meeting anyone.

Engineer Dovi further raises an alarm that the board had procured a pumping machine and borrowed money without his knowledge or input, even though he is the technocrat representing the Municipal Assembly on the board. He credited the Duamenefa Foundation’s intervention for bringing these developments to his attention.

In another development, Dumega Gideon, the representative of the traditional rulers on the water management board claimed, he was also sidelined and tactically removed from the board, even though Hon. Melli Attipoe, the Assembly man and a member of the water management board in an earlier interview with Fafaa Fm claimed, the board had channeled its reports through the municipal engineer and the representative of the traditional rulers. The two officers claimed Meli Attipoe’s assertions were untruth. They further claimed the water management board failed to render its account to the community for the past two years cumulatively, even though, according to the municipal assembly bylaws, the water management board must render quarterly account to the community.

The 13 members board members are:
1. Mr.Daniel Adri Sec
2. Hon Nyamuame Wisdom
3. Mr.Lawson Teve
4. Hon. Meli Attipoe
5. Mr.Daniel Awatsonya
6. Mr.Christian Adzaklo
7. Mawukoenya Avornyo
8. Sitsope Nutsuakor
9. Mr.Dufenya
10.Hon.Avornyo Segbe
11.Raymond Dovi
12.Dumega Gideon
13.Kwasi Tsah

These reports raise concerns about transparency and accountability in the management of Tadzewu’s water resources leading to the collapse of the system.

Engineer Dovi further adviced the municipal assembly, led by Hon. Dr. Anthony Avorgbedor, the MCE to dissolve the current board and reconstitute another board to handle the affairs of the Tadzewu water. According to him, ” They are incompetent”

Watch out for further developments……….
