Duamenefa Foundation Promoting Peaceful coexistence
Volta Region, Ghana – The Duamenefa Foundation, in collaboration with Sesi-Edem Football Academy, is thrilled to announce the 2025 Duamenefa Regional Tournament (DRT)—an exciting U-17 football competition proudly sponsored by the Tanko Foundation scheduled to kick off in June 2025. This year’s event is to be both “special and mega,” according to Mr. Patrick Doamekpor, Director of Sports for the Duamenefa Foundation.
His Eminence Hon. Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple (Togbi Nyaxordeakorla I) The Council of States member representing the Volta Region in the Office of the President, President of the Tanko Foundation—who has sponsored the tournament for the past three years—has reaffirmed his commitment to making the 2025 edition even more impactful. “We want to create opportunities for our youth to develop their football skills and potentially pursue professional careers in Europe,” he stated.
Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe, President and CEO of the Duamenefa Foundation and Fafaa 100.3 FM, emphasized the tournament’s primary objectives: promoting peace in local communities, encouraging youth engagement in sports as a deterrent from drugs and other negative activities, and offering a platform for young footballers to reach their full potential.
“We believe that by engaging the youth in soccer, we can foster unity, keep them away from harmful influences, and open doors for those with the talent and ambition to play professionally,” Mr. Ketaman explained. “This vision is what makes the 2025 Duamenefa Regional Tournament both interesting and truly mega.”
Registration and Participation
Clubs from across the region and beyond are encouraged to register early to facilitate smooth preparations. Registration details will be made available through Duamenefa Foundation’s official channels, as well as on Fafaa 100.3 FM.
