The Executive President of the Duamenefa Foundation and the CEO of Fafaa 100.3 Fm, Dzodze, Mr. Emmanuel Ketaman Evortepe was petitioned by Madam Adzotor Amemor. The contents of the petitioner’s plea, is Duamenefa Foundation, should investigate and intervene to resolve a hitherto antagonistic troubling allegations of spiritual manipulation and orchestration against her son, Mr. John Mensah, by his cousin, Mr. Christopher Mensah, both living together in the greater Accra Region.

Sequence to the petition, the Duamenefa launched its investigation to unravel the mysterious illness of, John. The said sickness has led Madam Adzotor a professed born-again Christian—to consult sorcerers and diviners.

According to the allegations contained in the petition, the incident began when the young man, who had been living with his brother in Accra, accompanied him on a visit to their hometown, Lawoshime, a community in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region. According to Madam Amemor’s interactions with Mr. Ketaman, during that trip, the brother took him to a certain place where he allegedly saw strange ritual items arranged in a plate—suspected to be used for occult purposes.

Soon after witnessing this, John Mensah, fell seriously ill under circumstances his family believes are spiritual in nature. Based on these events, the family has alleged that, Mr. Christopher Mensah, who took him to the shrine in Lawoshime, may be responsible for his current condition. This accusation has further fueled suspicion and tension within the family.

The Duamenefa Foundation of Fafaa 100.3 Fm, a social intervention and conflict resolution, NGO, with 48,658, registered and certified volunteers, scattered across the length and breadth of the Volta Region and beyond, whose primary mandate is to collaborate with relevant lawful agencies to promote peaceful coexistence of people in the various communities, swiftly investigates the allegations to unravel the mysteries.

In initial interactions on the airwaves of Fafaa 100.3 Fm, the victim’s mother identified herself as a born-again Christian who worshipped at the Global Evangelical Church. However, as the Foundation dug deeper, it was discovered she had been consulting idol worshippers, particularly Afa divination practitioners, known for performing spiritual rituals and divinations, in contrast to her Christian faith and beliefs.

This contradiction in her religious practice raised concerns. When confronted, Mad. Adzotor, admitted, “Yes, I am a Christian, but I had no choice. I took my son to several prayer centres, and nothing changed. My son, John, the victim, kept pestering me to take him to the shrines for the consultation and I have no choice.

When Duamenefa officials asked whether any of the rituals performed at the shrines had resulted in healing, she frankly stated, “I have been to many shrines. They performed all the necessary rituals, but my son is still mentally unstable.

The Duamenefa Foundation continues its in-depth investigation into both the spiritual and relational aspects of the case. The Foundation’s aim is to uncover the truth, resolve the underlying conflicts, and support the victim and his family through this spiritual crisis.
