Bleamezado, Volta Region – October 6, 2025
A state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) learning center has been officially commissioned at the Kaledzi Memorial Basic School in Bleamezado, located within the Anloga District of the Volta Region. The initiative is aimed at enhancing ICT education and promoting modern learning methods among students in the district.
The commissioning ceremony attracted several dignitaries, including the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, the Member of Parliament for Anloga; the Divisional Chief of Bleamezado, Torgbui Akporhor; and Mr. Vincent Kaledzi, also known as Torgbui Xornametor I, who spearheaded the project. Also present were traditional leaders, education stakeholders, community members, and students.
Speaking during the 2:00 PM news bulletin on Fafaa 100.3 FM, hosted by Abass Seidu, Mama Bleamezado II, who reported from the event, described the ceremony as successful and impactful. She explained that the newly commissioned AI center will help transform learning by exposing students to modern digital tools and the practical use of technology in education.

“Torgbui Xornametor I introduced this initiative to uplift education, especially in ICT, and to show how technology can support learning — for example, how students can interact with computers or even ask robots to perform tasks,” she said.
In an exclusive interview with Fafaa 100.3 FM, the headteacher of Kaledzi Memorial Basic School, Mr. Egbe Saviour Yao, also expressed deep appreciation for the project. He thanked Star Oil Ghana and Torgbui Xornametor I for their dedication and support in bringing such a modern educational facility to the school.
According to him, “This AI center is not just for Kaledzi Memorial Basic School. It is for the entire Anloga District, especially the schools in the Shime area. Looking at the structure, I believe it is the best modern AI center in the Volta Region — if not in the whole region, then definitely in the Anloga District.”
Mr. Yao encouraged students to make the most of the opportunity. “I urge all students to take this seriously. Use this center to learn and achieve greater things in the future,” he advised.
Reflecting on academic performance, he noted, “Over the past three years, our final exam results have not been encouraging. But with the introduction of this AI center, I strongly believe things will change for the better.”
The project also serves as a memorial to the late Mr. Leonard Kaledzi, the brother of Torgbui Xornametor I, in recognition of his dedication to education and community development.
The commissioning of the AI center is expected to significantly impact digital literacy in the region, equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.
