A distressed mother, Madam Amegashitsi Bertha, has called on the Duamenefa Foundation to investigate the circumstances behind the alleged mental health crisis of her son, Emmanuel Nutsugah. She claims his condition began shortly after an initiation performed by a pastor identified as Pastor Vincent Ekuago Karl.
In her petition, Madam Bertha explained that Emmanuel and his brother, Yao Nutsugah, were once active members of the Hand of God Church of All Nation. She alleges that Pastor Karl persuaded the two brothers to follow him with promises of grooming them into prophets capable of establishing their own ministries.
According to her, after Emmanuel joined the pastor, he was allegedly subjected to an initiation rite and instructed to have an affair with the pastor’s own daughter as a supposed condition for receiving “spiritual power.” She further alleges that the pastor also engaged in an affair with Emmanuel’s wife.
She states that not long after these alleged acts, Emmanuel began displaying signs of mental instability—destroying some of his belongings, giving others away, and behaving irrationally. Madam Bertha, who says she sacrificed greatly to raise her children, now faces emotional and financial hardship as a result of her son’s deteriorating condition.
The issue came to light on the Duamenefa Social Intervention Programme aired on Fafaa 100.3 Fm, Dzodze, on Sunday. As part of the show’s investigative approach, the pastor was called to respond to the allegations leveled against him.
During the call, the man identifying himself as Pastor Vincent Ekuago Karl stated that he is the founder of the Jesus Synagogue Church at Wudoaba, established seven years ago. He revealed that although he had worked under several men of God, he was ordained by the late Evangelist Emmanuel Agboyibor of the Nothing Hard for Jesus Church. He admitted, however, that he has no certificate to authenticate his pastoral training, explaining that his preparation consisted mainly of guidance in Leadership and Restitution.
When asked about his relationship with Emmanuel Nutsugah, the alleged victim, he confirmed knowing him and acknowledged anointing him, but denied ever ordaining him as a pastor or making him a prophet. When pressed further on the purpose of the anointing, he could not provide a clear explanation before the call abruptly ended.
The Duamenefa Foundation has assured the public that investigations will continue. The foundation says its objective is to uncover the truth, safeguard the alleged victim, and ensure justice is served.
This is a developing story, and more updates will be provided as new details emerge.
